Professional life #

I'm still at Omni Calculator, been there five years now. Our dev teams were merged about a year ago, and so the scope of my daily work widened to our entire codebase (whereas before, I was mostly working on our calculator widget and related subsystems). Happy to report that my knowledge and abilities grew accordingly. And I'm still the go-to Python guy in my team.

We recently began using Claude Code to boost our development speed. In my experience, it can't take care of entire feature implementations, but I definitely see its value in performing small refactors and in writing boilerplate code and tests. Plus it's nice to have a rubber duck that talks back.

Personal life #

We (that's my wife, myself, and our cat) moved to Montagu at the start of 2025. Then in June 2026, our family grew — we adopted a dog from the local rescue.

Music 🎵 #

Rediscovered my love for the piano, learning some bigger pieces.

Hobbies 🪚 #

I've started dabbling in woodworking for home repair and DIY. Might make some furniture in the future, if I'm not too bad at it.

Video games 🎮 #

Haven't had much time to play games recently — instead, I've been learning how to make games with Godot.
